How to self center throttle stick on dx18 radio?
 

I'm trying to make the throttle stick self center for my excavator. Dx18 spektrum radio. Help?

Interesting, I would assume the same can be done on the 18, I could look into mine later, but I still use it for flying also. Nice to know though

It's similar to that, but I can't recall if I had to split the case or just access a set screw from under the left glued down grip to release the ratchet. There's 4 small rubber plugs you see on back of radio, there for adjusting spring tension on each up/down - left/right travel of each gimbal.

The DX8 is super simple with just one small rubber plug on each side to release/engage the ratchet.

I just opened up my dx18 and it does not have a spring for the throttle gimbal when compared to the right stick. So the dx6 video was a no go. I would need to purchase a spring and a plastic arm that holds it to make it work. Any suggestions on where I can get these parts? I called spektrum and they don't sell these parts.

Im pretty sure you have to send the radio back to Spectrum and have them do it. I think it's pretty cheap to do. If you order a radio directly from them and you ask them to install it they will before they send it to you.

Horizon is cool. It sucks to send in a radio and have to wait, but they have NEVER charged me for any work, just shipping fees.

I have nothing but good to say about Horizon service dept.

Ok thanks all for the feedback. This is why I like forums especially this group.
I called horizon and they are sending me the spring and cantilever to convert my throttle stick to self center. :)
At first they kept saying I need to send my radio back to them. But my radio is now in Italy so that's not going to happen. So they made an exception to send me the parts.
