wrecker from a worminator chassis
i've had this sucker on the shelf for years. Got it out the other day just to slap some paint on it and do some basic cab details to make it look like something.
Kinda fun to goof with but not real practical. Also my old build thread from RCU. Going to do a bit more on the details and adding junk to the bed in the next couple days. http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/...psgih9cudo.jpg http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-r...l#post12346166 |

Re: wrecker from a worminator chassis
Thanks wolf! Couple more small bits, added the mobile welding unit and some brackets for holding chain and such. Not going overboard on the detailing as this will be a beater.

Re: wrecker from a worminator chassis
Looking cool.
Is it an offroad towtruck or a boom truck? |
Re: wrecker from a worminator chassis
I guess more of a crawler recovery truck frizzen. Unless you've got a dolly the whole idea of a tow truck or wrecker is pretty impractical since most r/c vehicles don't have a neutral or are multi-axle driven.

Re: wrecker from a worminator chassis
Yeah, but quite a few crawlers have digs, and there are still some 2wd rc vehicles.
I couldn't tell if you had a frame at the back to keep the towed thing from swinging/hitting your truck while it's on hook and you change speed. Or it looked kinda like one of the massive offroad logging trucks, maybe an oilfield thing used to setup drill platforms. |
Re: wrecker from a worminator chassis
I haven't made them yet, but going to put some draw bars in the back.

Re: wrecker from a worminator chassis
The tools and the tanks are really set that off, along with the other great details
