[1/14] CAT 349F
A new project !
After the acquisition of a CAT 349F in my company I decide to turn my self on building a 349F. It's clearly more easy to build a model when you have access for making mesures and pictures on the real thing! Here the machine  https://i.gyazo.com/5b382f6da54a9d98...67d43f6563.jpg Planned Specifications: - 1:14.5 Semi-Model as realistic as possible - Construction with Aluminium, Delrin (for Skeleton), Resin 3D prints - Conception with Fusion 360 - Machined part with my CNC and some 3D prints parths for interior stuff - Magom HR7 Pomp - Home made distributors, cooling system and cylinders - Custom brushless motorisations - Taranis radio system I'm planing to maybe commercialize this product with a reasonable price. By reducing the cost of the parths as possible. The conception was firstly done under 3Ds Max using this method with the parths manual from CAT. By the way, you have really good views in the section "Service Equipment And Supplies" In short, here is where I am after several weeks: https://i.gyazo.com/5e29452c49ab28d3...0e34cffc5d.png https://i.gyazo.com/788737df443ff8da...b105fef6a5.png https://i.gyazo.com/2968b83274f17f10...6382f94ba9.png I now need to redraw into "CAD" version in Fusion 360. The output model from 3Ds Max is a Mesh (With polygon). 3Ds Max was distinctly easier and faster for modeling the shape of the machine with 2D slide. So you will have to be patient for the construction of this prototype!:jump: |
Re: [1/14] CAT 349F
Are you referring to this specific pump setup from Magom?

Re: [1/14] CAT 349F
Direct drive might make it power hungry, but a bigger negative is that tiny hyd reservoir will cause heating & foaming issues.
Pretty sure Hemi1966 bought his hyds for his grader from this guy, as does Premacon, Fumotec, THS and many others; lot's of different pump configurations to choose from to suit your flow & pressure needs. https://www.modellhydraulik.com/ For an excavator you'll want as big of oil supply you can fit in your model to keep the oil warm to the touch at most. My Fumotec models use aviation fuel tanks & one particular model I made my own from brass sheet - soldered together. Some guys lately, like Cooper, are using clear acrylic glued together, so you can see clearly how full & clean your oil is. |
