8x8 Behemoth (10X10 recovery rig) overhaul!
i've been doing little bits here and there on my 8x8 Behemoth, i don't have much for build up pictures on it but i'll start adding to it as i go. it is running tlt axles with a rc4wd heavy duty tranny, 650 size 12 volt motor, on 6cell lipo, on 2.2 wheels

Re: 8x8 Behemoth
WOW:eek: Its looks like it will run thru a wall! 650 motor? Lots of torque out of that one!

Re: 8x8 Behemoth
Were did you get the short shaft and how do you get a 22.2 volt lipo down to 12 volts? Ed

Re: 8x8 Behemoth
yeap, i'm not sure that the stock tamiya diff are going to last long in this one...
the motor i'm just over volting it, seems to be holding up fine the short drive shaft is a punisher shaft that i cut down to size |
Re: 8x8 Behemoth
Looks reall good Russ. They might not hold I have TLT's in my 15 pound 1/10 scale pathfinder and I am running Holms puller on 11.1 lipo and I have to rebuild the diffis every year but now I have RC4wd center section and harden pinion..

Re: 8x8 Behemoth
I like it Russ it is like a prime mover on steroids. The 12V that is a recommendation and how often will it be at full throttle and I would say the first two pinions are the weak point anyway. I think it would look real good with a jacked up flat bed behind it.:D

Re: 8x8 Behemoth
a big flat bed would look good

Man Russ, what is it with you and 8x8s?:D

Re: 8x8 Behemoth
Looks nice! Any idea what the final look will be?? Either needs lots of chrome or white to match the wheels.

Re: 8x8 Behemoth
That things huge, those are 2.2 right. And do you have a better pic of the rear suspension
|
Re: 8x8 Behemoth
they are 2.2s. the rear suspension is very simple, it is just a rocker between two leaf springs. for the new 10x10 i'm milling out my own parts to use on the truck.
