Re: 79 freightshaker COE

Whenever I see these Freightliners, it gets me thinking about the movie Terminator 2, when the Freightshaker COE tow truck is being driven by the T2000 terminator, chasing after John Connor, with Arnold, the T1000 terminator, on the Harely, trying to catch up to John. A bit off topic, I know, but there was also the Freightshaker conventional pulling the liquid nitrogen trailer. Hey, maybe that could be your next project.

This will be a great build!
Ya gotta move that steer axle (and wheel well) up snug to the bumper, tho...
I've always liked the "cheekbones" on the cab front, and the way up high battleship windshields of the Freightliner.

I don't know why Tamiya located the steer axle where they did, it's not forward enough for most cabovers or conventionals, and not far enough back for set back axle conventionals or JB Hunt type cabovers.

That cutout in the cab for the air intake reminds me of the old "Overdrive" magazine, where they complained mightily about the "Redwood Tree" taking up sleeper cab space... I don't know if Freightliner ever changed the design.
