1/14 Earth Mover 490 Hydraulic Semi End Dump

Hello, I've been out of the scene for way too long!:D Does anyone have some background information on this trailer sold at RC4WD.com? I have a hard time believing the specs of the hydraulics, 92lb max push!!! I need this set up for my cat 966. Anyway, any information about this product would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully someone here owns one.

92lbs is almost 3 time's the rated payload, should be ok, similar to full size rating's, The shipping crate must be one tough monster at 221lbs shipping weight, for a 12lb model.

Cheer's, Neil.

Oddly enough, it looks like the trailer is set up for a proper hoist cylinder, in front of the box. You can see the triangular gusset looking mounts underneath the rock guard, but then you see a rather whimpy little cylinder, mounted quite far back, between the axles! How is it going to get any leverage being so close to the hinges?

Not sure what to make of the cylinder and weight lifting specs. Cylinder force can be calculated by finding the surface area of a circle, then multipling that by the pressure pushing against it. 3.14 * the radius, squared * the hyrdaulic pressure. We don't know the cylinder size or pressure, but it still seems a little far fetched even if you guess at the specs.

The weight of the trailer is listed as 22 pounds. Not 221! The 1 is the l, in lbs. :D Shipping costs would be a steal for 221 lbs. Even though it's still expensive!

Looks like a Carson trailer.

Hmm?
Maximum lift power: 42kg/92lbs
Powder coated finish
Length: 605mm/23.8inch
Width: 192mm/7.5inch
Heigth: 255mm/10inch
Weight: 5.5kg/12 lbs
XX Cubic Yards Capacity
Cylinder maximum thrust: 109kg/231 lbs

What do the European forum's have to say about this one?

Yes Nathan, I miss read shipping at 22 lbs, OOP'S! I looked at the picture's again, I see your point on mechanical advantage, for the hoist cylinder. 1/3 of 92lbs, may barely be enough.

No telescoping cylinder on the front end, bummer! look's like it's set up for one.

Cheer's, Neil.
