Re: Scale Art USFS Loader
The green looks good , nice to see a different color for a change. Did you make the USFS badge?
|
Re: Scale Art USFS Loader
Looks real good a very nice model for sure;)

Re: Scale Art USFS Loader
I work for the Forest Service and the badges are lapel pins.

Re: Scale Art USFS Loader
These are such nice looking models. I also like that it's a unique color. Not just the usual Cat yellow. Is that orange stuff on the track bolts and nuts some type of thread lock? Hard to believe these models are functional RC machines!

Re: Scale Art USFS Loader
I used scale nuts and bolts on the tracks instead of the supplied brass pins. I promoted actual rust by placing the tracks in the dishwasher. Thought real rust would look better. Additionally, the tracks screech ;) like the full size version. ;)

Re: Scale Art USFS Loader
Now that is pretty cool!!! i love it! I agree its nice to see one not in yellow.. I love that you made it a forestry machine looks great!! Good idea on the lapel pins!

Re: Scale Art USFS Loader
I bet the green paint tastes better than the cat yellow..... :P

Re: Scale Art USFS Loader
I love "real" rust idea and the green reminds me of my time as an operator ahh.. CARC Did you paint it or did it come painted?

Re: Scale Art USFS Loader
Wow, looks stunning. Its the first one I've seen with a ripper fitted as well.
Did you install the electrics? I haven't seen string tyes for years. Much smarter than plastic tyes wraps ;) Looks fantastic. |
Re: Scale Art USFS Loader
Nice job! They are nice models for sure! I had heard the ripper was i development, look like its in the USA, haha. Nice!

Re: Scale Art USFS Loader
Thanks for the kind words. The wire ties are used in aviation applications (I work in aviation) and the electronics were installed by me. They consist of ServoNaut (BMA,SMX,M220) and the Scale Art mother board. I had Scale Art paint the parts for me. The Ripper is new and the Scale Art folks had not yet worked out the placement of the electrical components, so I simply placed them in the front compartment with the speaker, and went to a LiPo battery (smaller) to make it all fit.:)

Re: Scale Art USFS Loader
Hey, Waz up muscle man! nice to see your building again! Do you still have your other scale art and wedico stuff? If i remember right you sold your Deere dozers but kept that magnificent blade...right? Just wonder as I'm redoing my dozer and may need some of your expertise. Later, Greg

Re: Scale Art USFS Loader
I love the model I think the rust is a great touch and It came out fantastic good job

Re: Scale Art USFS Loader
That is a beautiful machine. The green is very nice, I think it would also look good in fire red paint.
BTW, I think the rear ripper adds a lot of play value and coolness to the loader. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3313/4...3391c967_b.jpg |
Re: Scale Art USFS Loader
Was the ripper included? I didn't see where you could buy it separately on the scale art site.
