5th wheel release

I have seen some trucks trucks at indy and st louis that had the 5th wheel release bar attatched right the to the 5th wheel. Ive taken mine apart a few times trying to replicate it to get rid of the bar and mount on my frame deck but i just cant get it to work right...
How are you guys doing it? is it a different 5th wheel then im using maybe?
Anyone who has done this can you post pictures ot it from top and underneath or maybe even a tutorial? Id really like to completly clean up my deckplate and not have it on there as i do not run the powered support legs or anything. Thanks for your help!

I was just looking at some pics of your deck. How about a shorter rod and anchor the arm to the chrome plate directly in front of the 5th wheel? Maybe make a custom arm to be sure it clears the fender?

Paul i like your way! Ive seen the aluminum bars but i was looking for the ones that took the stock bar and 5th wheel and made it work.. i saw some at Indy but i cant remember who's truck it was on.. I may end up going with Pauls way looks more scale.
