Free cargo boxes....
hey everyone, a few months ago i saw a video of a truck hauling a little cardboard Caterpillar box and I thought, how cool!
I work for a Cat dealership and i immediately told the guys at work to save the boxes we all normally throw out. It didnt take long to gather quite a few various boxes. I now have way more than i need and before i throw them into the cardboard recycle bin I thought, maybe someone would like some? Free of charge, just cover shipping. http://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/...ps68a72daf.jpg http://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/...ps150f2ff4.jpg http://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/...ps45c6bc1e.jpg http://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/...ps39b0e4dd.jpg the size fits the standard tamiya deck width real nice. anyone interested send me a PM. the boxes can be folded up for small cheap shipping cost. I plan on filling the ones i keep with spray foam insulation to give more densityand strenght also glue the ends shut. mario sorry Mods, i figured this was the best place to post?? |
Re: Free cargo boxes....
PM sent, those are ~so~ neat.
You could also cut blocks of blue-foam insulation to stiffen then. A 4x8 sheet is dirt cheap, or hit the dumpster at a construction site for scraps. WhiteWolf |

This is not a fire sale , if enough people are interested, the supply of various boxes is endless. It took about 3 weeks to collect what is in the pics.Once these are gone I will let ya know when another batch is ready:) Mario. |
Re: Free cargo boxes....

heres a few more pics of boxes on pallets. Thanks Dwayne ;) http://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/...psf139f7f7.jpg http://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/...pseb393adb.jpg http://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/...ps31e7718e.jpg Now just so everyone is aware.... there is a ugly sticker on these boxes! with proper positioning you can hide it or the sticker can be removed. you just have to figure out a way to get the glue that always stays behind off:eek::mad: I use margarine, it works well. http://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/...pse3f06eb3.jpg they also fit great inside the crates:):):D http://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3bb7287b.jpg I can mail in a simple brown envelope for no more than postage I figure. http://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/...psc6011660.jpg Thanks for looking. mario |
Re: Free cargo boxes....
Depends on the adhesive.
I try my alcohol medical wipes first, and if the stuff is still resistant, and the material can take it, I resort to lighter fluid (yellow plastic bottle Ronson stuff) in the dried out alky-wipe pads. Considering this is cardboard, I'd try lifting the labels with hot air from a hair dryer, or a heat gun if the dryer isn't enough. Then go at the residue with the solvents. WhiteWolf |

Re: Free cargo boxes....
hey mario i would like at least a trailer load or more because of my warehouse..don't mean to be greedy ,i am not in a rush for them right now..i like the variety of sizes and the flat ones,if its too much maybe save them for me and bring them to clifford this year or if you prefer to mail them thats ok ...now lets see how many flattened you can get in a large brown envelope:p:p..let me know what you prefer...thanks...or even a small box would be fine too
