Wedico expert needed!

I am in need of some expert Wedico help. I recently purchased a used Wedico COE Frieghtliner flat bed that has a twin motor drive on a 3 speed tranny. I do not like the twin motor at all. What do I need to convert it to a single motor drive? I would like to keep the 3 speed but go with a simpler set up. Plus get some extra room in the cab.

Thanks for any help,

Lynn is it the aluminum or the plastic transmission? If it is the aluminum just unbolt the combo box and eliminate it, I have no experience with the plastic version. I believe you will need a different pinion gear, I'm pretty sure I have one or two I could give you.

Is your combination box the 1:1 or the 3:1 ratio?

Mine has the plastic tranny in it. So I guess I am own my own. Thanks for the info. Not sure about the gear ratio in the gearbox???? Truck came with a 1993 Wedico catalog. Boy, do I wish the prices were still the same:eek::eek:

I have trucks with and without the coupler. They seem to work the same other than the pulling torque and slow movement abilities. No difference in battery draw that I have ever noticed. I did eliminate one of mine because of the new Behler motor differences.

If I'm not mistaken the gear on both units is the same. Possibly white? When I get home tonight I will send you a PM with a Wedico instruction page on the coupler. That should answer your questions.

Good luck with your Wedico truck, post some pictures.

Lynn I have a couple of the white plastic pinion gears, they are longer than the yellow ones, let me know if you need them, if so they are yours.

Re-posted the two missing files from above. I don't know where they went! It looks to me he needs the black 12 tooth gear #591

Thanks for all of the info. If I take out the dual motor drive, I would like to change everything over to 7.2 volt which looks like I need to change more than just the pinion gear. Looks like I am finding out why I never purchased a Wedico before!! Glad that the other truck is a static model that I can put in whatever electronics and driveline that I want.
