Freightliner COE Cabover 6x4 1:Wedico

Here is the my new wedico based Freightliner COE Cabover tractor truck. I want to add as much as possible details on my truck. Althought I have been NY for 2 years, I am not enought familiar with american oldtimer tractors. Please help me about details on everywhere on the tractor.

Firstly, I purchased a Freightliner COE as a second hand.

http://i675.photobucket.com/albums/v...0206-02184.jpg
http://i675.photobucket.com/albums/v...0206-02188.jpg

Firstly I removed paint because all my trucks are white and black paint has many strects. Cab was painted eletrostatic powder coat in the oven (it is same style paint with the orginal wedico paint)

After painting I started gathered parts. I put nuts outside to make more realistic. And I added lamps and leds. I put white leds in front headlight. rest are 12V lamps.

Now I added classical roof lights and horns. I will add michelen puppet and sun vizor when I make final montage. If you have any idea for outside decoration please shear with me. If you have any idea about side decal styles please let me know

hello chris,
I think that nuts seems more relastic than screws. I think to paint the door screws to white.

Unfortunately no, I could not. I am totally hopeless about bernett. Now I forget Bernett and its excavator. Last year I bought Wedico CAT 345D now I use it. You can see it as backround in the photos :)

With your help I try to improve my cabover :)

Re: Freightliner COE Cabover 6x4 1:Wedico

here is the chassis.
Firstly I copied the wedico professional chasis. Standart wedico 731 is long for an american tractor therefore I made 1 cm shorter to make more realistic my tractor. Than I painted chasis and its components with black powdercoat.

I also painted front axle to get more realistic view. I removed paint inside of the axle.

Than I choosed rims.

It's nice to see something a little different. Not many Wedico Freightliner COE's get posted around the forum. I kind of get the itch to want a Freightliner COE too, but I already have two trucks I need to finish first!

Re: Freightliner COE Cabover 6x4 1:Wedico

hello espeefan, thank you for your encourageing words,

Yesterday I finished frame. Standart wedico bumper does not have rear lamp holes. I made 2 hole for rear lamp and I added rear lamps to make more realistic. Now I have a question. Should rear bumper be black or metalic like in the picture ??????????? Which one more realistic. (front bumper will be metalic)

by the way, all parts that I used comes from different trucks :) generally I buy second hands kits, and I mix their parts to get better trucks. For exmple I made small modifications on rear frame travers. Because It was a front traves in the past :) (wedico front and rear traverses are differently joined to side rails.)

Here is my new update. I added gear servo. By the help of hot slicon I glued the servo to the gear box under engine. So I both save empty lot on the chassis and save money not to buy servo holder. Hot slicon perfectly stick together plastic parts. I tried servo and it seems that it is very solid.

Re: Freightliner COE Cabover 6x4 1:Wedico

new updates

I used robbe rim center parts and rims are product of my friend from Turkey. I preffered rĂ¼st continental tires. I believe that they are much more realistic than wedico fulda ones for this type of tructor. Wedico tires seems new and europian but my truck will be amerian and old therefore characteristic of continentals better.

Firstly I set front side. Than I cutted diffeantielles to make fit rim center. The reason wedico and robbe has different lockin (joining mechansim).

Nice progress, Kamyoncu. The rims and tires look good on the chassis. It won't be long now and your truck will be ready to roll.

SonoranWraith on this form had 2mm chrome acorn nuts I got some you just buy some 2mm screws and lock-tight them in to the nut look great. You are coming along nicely with this build. Ed

Re: Freightliner COE Cabover 6x4 1:Wedico

Thank you for your encourage Nathan and Edward. In turkey we use metric system therefore it is easy to find them but thank you for information.

todays updates, I aded front bumper and exhaust. I used a exhaust because generally there is a airfilter on the left side. Now I do not have any but may be I add later.

Than I made decals of truck by myself. It sells on advertisement board makers. I did not like original wedico decals therefore I made by myself. Hopefully you guys like it.

I like the stripes. They match the era of the truck well. Are they stickers or decals? A kit designed for the Freightliner, or something else?

kamyoncu 08-22-2013 07:57 PM

Re: Freightliner COE Cabover 6x4 1:Wedico

thank you Ed and Pip :)

Nathan, I designed and cut stripes by myself. It is not a kit. I am not sure difference with decal and stickers, but it use on bilboards or traffic sign or coverage on the cars. It is for outside durable and it is a skinny and self sticky plastic material. I do not know what you guys call for it. In turkish we say ' Foil ' I bought as a m2 sheet than I made stripes.

Nice work Kamyoncu. The interior helps finish the truck nicely, and the leather wrapped interior is far better then metal or plastic looking pieces. I understand your explanation of the red stripes, and how you made them. Thanks.

Re: Freightliner COE Cabover 6x4 1:Wedico

Thank you nathan :)

Here is new updates
Firstly I did roof lamps. And used hot slicon glue to make stable the cables. Than I add front lamps as 3mm white led. Although it is a oldtimer, I see so many sweet led modification on them. I drilled with 4mm lamp bowl to make fit for 3mm leds. And finally I close the roof but it took 5 hour. The reason is I forgot to strip excess paints from rear part.

Hopefully you guys like it. I wait your replys
