Interested in starting my Rc trucking career

Hello people, the trucks, trailers and equipment on here are amazing.
I have a question. Should I start by buying a kit? Or piece a truck together with all the beautiful parts I've seen available?

I've only recently bought my first kit, got the Scania from Tamiya, and would recommend getting a kit like theirs.
There are so many options and parts available it's hard to know what you want or need until you've built something and then use it and discover you want or need something else.
I've gone from the stock tamiya Scania R620 kit to now lifting the suspension, more aggressive tires, fixing the steering, front diff, etc but wouldn't have known until I'd built it and driven it around and gotten the feel for it.

Lots of fun tho

Start with a kit (Tamiya or Wedico)!!!! If you start trying too buy parts to assemble one, you'll just be disappointed with the finished product. :)

You have to be in the hobby for a couple of years before you actually know most of the suppliers that have parts available for us. The modifications for these trucks seem endless and the money that could be spent on a build by purchasing parts separately could cost you in the tens-of-thousands-of-dollars.

Starting with a kit will give you the basics and all you need to purchase to make it run is an ESC, a TX/RX system w/servo's, and a 7.2 volt battery with charger. The whole bundle should cost you somewhere between $650 - $1,100 depending on the truck you choose, the quality of radio, and the type of ESC you choose. ;)

Happy building and Good luck

Nice choice. Knight Hauler is a great looking truck "box stock" and it can be modified if you're so inclined. :) As a first build, I suggest that you just follow the instructions and learn the basics. The second truck can be your experimental unit. :D
Remember to have fun. :bounce:
Knight Hauler coming soon :jump:
