IH 6388
The IH 6388 2+2 was my favorite toy as a kid. I was a bit rough with it. It lost the exhaust pipe, the plastic shroud and even the drawbar!
Now I'm going to rebuild this toy of mine with RC gear. Its a Ertl in 1/16 scale. Here are pictures as its coming apart. I started by bringing to bare metal, and will sandblast it in the next few weeks while I'm at my parents place. http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps55a16880.jpg http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...psc7f1e313.jpg http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...pscc1d91a6.jpg http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps2c300546.jpg http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...pse09e0651.jpg |
Re: IH 6388
Nice choice for an r/c tractor. I used to see two of them close to where i lived as a kid. They had that look as if they were sneaking up on something...lol:D

Re: IH 6388
Nice project! There will be a lot of space for the rc-components under the hood...

Re: IH 6388
Always thought they were one of the most interesting tractors. Good to see a build like this.

Re: IH 6388
I'm pretty excited for this one, especially since its a toy I remember getting when I was 4 years old. :)
The first one I saw in person was when I was traveling in Alberta between Calgary and Drumheller last summer. I had seen a Case model with the white cab when I was kid. They do look funny, and the anteater nickname is appropriate. Grainfarmer, your right there is room! Compared to the MF and other models, I'll be able to store a proper battery. I have another idea for the extra space, but will wait to see if its feasible first. :) |
