So I'm putting together my build list before I order everything..

Does anyone have a king and a globe!? Im trying to find out if the globe liner climbs and turns better with its shorter wheelbase or if it's not even noticeable

If the answer to my above question is yes..
Then I'm curious to see if anyone has pictures of a king hauler or knight hauler day cab on globe liner rails..

i wanna build what wedico calls a "mule truck"

Short wheelbase will usually always turn better but one thing that helps all the Tamiya trucks is bending the steering rod so it doesn't hit the shock mounts and that really increases the amount of steering throw you have.

Climbing wise I don't think you'd notice much of a difference. That'll all depend on the weight of the truck, terrain and tires.

Globe is better -

I also notch the I beam to allow the staring knuckle to pivot further.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the answers ... I posted this on rc group and tamiya trucks and i only got 1 person to respond on rc group..

This is definitely the more helpful place to be...

my next question is have either or anything of you tried the dual motor 3:1 reduction vs the 4:1 reduction aux transmission?

I was thinking of getting the 4:1 aux tranny but then I saw the dual motor kit which would allow me in the future to make said truck an awd.. Does anyone have any experience with either part?

with a decent truck puller motor or similar, either tranny will give you bags of torque so it comes down to your preferred speed in top gear and how you plan your AWD conversion. Transfer box after the tranny should work with either conversion you mention. Remember though that dual motor will require big Amps so will run the battery down really fast - and with that in mind choose the ESC wisely!

One of the 'simplest' AWD conversions I saw had a planetary gear reduction between motor and gearbox, then the gearbox lower shaft extended out of the front and rear of the gearbox for drive to axles.

Note that the Globe has very limited space between the back of the gearbox and first rear axle (less space than any other truck I think), might be a consideration with your transmission set-up

Thanks RICM... i watched a build on you tube where the lower shaft was modified and extended to become a drive for the front ex.. they reason I asked about the tranny vs twin engine reduction is cause from my understanding if I do the twin kit my gearing will be reduced before it enters the tranny vs a aux kit which done the same way would reduce my rear gears by 4:1 but leave the front stock since the reduction's after the tranny.. would that cause excessive drive train wear compared to a stock truck?

Reductions after the Tam Trans operate smoother

Reductions before the Tam 3 speed are easier to install

Std can motor with a 3:1 on the Tam Trans is ideal speed no need for 50 turn.

Reducation units in front of the Trans puts the motor above the servos, more space and you can slide the Trans forward.

I still use a 55turn with a 4:1 or 3:1. I find it to be the perfect speed for me to create a more scale speed. The stock can motor just wont give you the smoth power that a lower turn motor will.

Thanks guys for the great responses, nothing beats asking a question to the right crowd lol.. my next question is if I do go awd.. where can I find a steering axles that's drivin?

1 choice would be a TLT axle. A little wider than a stock Tamiya front axle but many have been used this way. Quite a few of the German web sites have steerable front axles for the trucks but are very pricey in my opinion. Integy has a full set of powered axles for the trucks if you can find them. They can be pricey also plus I think you have to buy a full set.
