Re: Are you greasing the pivots of your excavator?

A new machine arrived today :). First thing I did was pull all the pins I could and grease them. It's an easy job and IMO it is definitely "regularly scheduled maintenance" for an excavator so not...

Re: Does anyone have any Rc plow with mount 3d files to share

Scale looking plows and mounts on full size truck models are not available AFAIK and are not easy to pull off DIY. You'd need super short hydraulic rams for up/down and angling for one thing.

Re: Prototype Cat Tractor and Road Groomer

Did some testing in the backyard test facility today.

The 1.9's sunk and dug in immediately so went back to 2.2's. These solved the traction issue and the gearing is OK.

Some videos of the...

Experimental CAT Extreme Slope Dozer

Here is my vision of what CAT might build if they created something to compete with JD's High Speed Dozer. But this will be able to doze on extreme slopes too.

Model is based on the Blizzard SR...

Re: Case 1470

She's forming up nicely!

With the work this tractor might be doing now is a good time to look into lowering the gearing, before the trans gets too buried.

I think a 15 is stock, so maybe a 12...

Re: Prototype Cat Tractor and Road Groomer

Ok good to hear. Will stick to 1.9's for now and do some 1.9/2.2 comparison testing as soon as it dries out. Lots of rain in NJ today.

Its a 35 turn motor. I have a 55 and will try it.

And leftover from the Bruder Grader is the blade assembly with some added- on side extensions. It's all plastic (except for the steel wear bar) so it probably won't last long but it'll be fun...

I would like to have multiple groomer designs to play with so made another tonight.

This one is much simpler and lighter than the one above and will (presumably) require less h.p. to pull. (?)
