3D Printing Test

In an earlier article I wrote describing how I built a 3D printed lowboy trailer there was some discussion about the strength limits of such a model versus the conventional all metal designs. This...

Re: Board running slow?

Download speed seems to have greatly improved. Only a one or two second delay today. Thanks to whomever was responsible for taking care of this issue.

Re: Scania airport fire truck

That paint job really turned out nice, good job. Have to admit though that I would never have associated a color called "sulpher yellow" with a fire engine.

Re: 3D Printed Lowboy Redux

Thanks.

I really don't want to get into manufacturing. I really like 3D printing but I only have one printer and the process takes a lot of time. If you want to make your own the .stl files are...

Re: 3D Printed Lowboy Redux

Thanks very much. I've become inspired to do some testing on some techniques to improve strength and hopefully will have some information to pass on shortly.

Re: Demag TC 500 truck crane in scale 1/24

That is going to be a real interesting trailer. Is the rear self-steering or is it controlled by the front somehow?

Re: Bruder CAT 320 excavator RC conversion

Very nice work. Really like the use of the 3D templates. Are you going to use hydraulics or actuators for boom movement?

Re: Scania airport fire truck

I have been doing modeling of one sort or another for over 50 years and that is probably the hardest thing I've ever had to learn.

Yes, please. Would be very interested in seeing.

Re: Scania airport fire truck

I think your work so far on this fire engine is fantastic. It is very difficult to match up all those compound curves and you've done a great job. I really like the lighting systems you've put...

I was very intrigued by the 3D printed lowboy conversions postings by bigdogrod. I thought that there was a lot of potential there and seemed like a way to really make use of a 3D printer in the...
