Re: Where can i get ribbed aluminium or steel sheet?

I've used monokoate before, but since its intended for planes, it likes to stretch tight to cover wings, so i dont think it would adhere to the dips in the plastic, it would try and stretch over...

Re: Where can i get ribbed aluminium or steel sheet?

Re: 3D printing KH Body Attempt

Truly awesome. I was thinking of building an M1070 next, but the amount of scratch building i'd have to do was putting me off. Maybe i should invest in one of these, make life easier for myself.

Re: Movie Optimus Prime build

I didnt actually cut the fenders off completely. I only cut out a wedge to a point where a molded groove is at the rear, so they were still partially attached anyway. Then i added a thin 1mm thick...

Re: 3D printing KH Body Attempt

I'm in awe.

I've been looking at the hobby style 3d printers for a while, like the Makerbot ones. Wish i had some spare cash! Its one thing to spend $1k or more on a 1/14 truck over several...

Re: original 80's tamiya clodbuster

Nothing quite like an original old school Tamiya. I have a Hornet and Boomerang on my shelf, had both as a kid.

This is my recently rebuilt Clod:...

Re: Where can i get ribbed aluminium or steel sheet?

Should be pretty much perfect! Its available in 0.55m, 0.8mm, 0.9mm thicknesses.

I think its a rolled...

Re: Movie Optimus Prime build

Just noticed i missed a few questions, so here we go:

Try using surface mount LEDs. Cost me about $2.60 for 10. Bit harder to work with because of their size, but great for tight spaces.

Re: Movie Optimus Prime build

Nah i'm happy to have a detail pointed out to me! Added it to the very long list.
Should be a simple enough job anyway. Saw out a wedge, sand round the edge, build up some styrene.
Interestingly,...
