Re: Dozer questions

While I realize using springs for track tension is the easy way to do a model, the grease adjustment on a 1:1 does not keep tension on the track, it only sets the clearance or "slop". Our model...

Re: 966 Snow Box Plow

Very nice work and a unique attachment. What did you use to join the moldboard to the sides - JB Weld or something else? Did not appear to be aluminum soldered.

Thanks.

Re: Volvo A40F articulated dumper

A really nice model. Dump system speed is very prototypical and smooth. I don't have any personal experience with the CTI cylinders but have seen them used in a variety of applications. Let us know...

Re: 777 HAUL TRUCK (1/12 size)

This is a really cool truck! Access to the waterjet really helps with correct dimensions and repetitive cuts - and with great accuracy.

I've re-read all the pages and did not see a reference to...

Re: RC4WD Loader

It isn't a Komatsu. The rear hood makes me think of a Leihberr but not sure what it is.

Re: Servonaut

I'll have to start saving for this! A Komatsu truck model is actually on my want-to-build list; this is just a size smaller than I'd been considering.

Thanks for the info!

Re: Smith 40

That is a marvelous piece of modelling! Without the wall behind it, you'd think it was the 1:1. Our company has put a few pedestal hydraulic clams on barges on the Ohio River, but nothing that is...

I've seen the Kress pot-carriers used in a steel plant in Arkansas. The pot contained molten steel moved from the furnace area to the pouring and rolling mill area via a dedicated road. ...

Wonder how 1:14 equipment on 1:16 track would look - too much difference in size? Guess I'll have to think on that a while.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Re: Hi-rail trucks and equipment

I've been looking into track for a 1:14 roadrailer I'm building. The 7/8" scale is very close, but everything I've seen is narrow gauge. Not something that would work with the normal hi-railer...
