OK - makes sense. I haven't got any lipos...only NiMH...if I want to switch between models I leave the battery plugged in and use the Rx switch. But I understand lipos need different treatment!

standard practice with radio gear is to have the switch on the Rx side. I don't know anybody who has mounted a switch in the battery +ve side.

I would suggest you stick with the original Tamiya design - it works fine - if you mount the switch as you suggest you'll get constant coupling/ uncoupling sounds if you drive over an uneven road...

I agree with Pete....the switch works fine if you use the ceramic grease (other types of grease can be a bit 'sticky' and will only add to the problem) and don't overtighten the screws. The way I put...

no problem.
So you are right in that if you did plug nothing but servos into your receiver, then there is no power.....! The ESC/ MFU is the key....

the servo cables have 3 wires. In the case of Futaba you have:
red = +ve supply
black = -ve
white = signal from receiver
when everything is plugged in, the red wires all end up being...
