Yeah I think the transmissions are one of those things that doesn't translate from the 1:1 to scale modeling. Diesel engines work in a narrow range so the transmissions are geared to keep them...

There are several out there that can use your own recorded sounds if you are ambitious. Stock libraries I don't recall one having detroit diesel specifically, but rather by the model truck like...

It has to be cotton since it will be melting the plastic. Then you have to keep it moving so you don't cut with the same section for too long. Once you get the hang of it you can feel when it...

I already get Miniatures catalog (I think Micromark sold my info) and there's a dollhouse construction supply not far from my house, but they don't have piano hinges. :)

Awesome set up. Definitely a huge plus for the hobby and biggest set up that I've seen. Maybe in a few years it will be like the ones on the other side of the pond. Certainly headed that way!
