Re: 90 ton 1/14 metal excavator scratch build w/embedded PC

This is now the code on the motor controllers, that has the new current limiting, position reporting and position end limits, acceleration and variable braking.

You don't need to understand any of...

Re: 90 ton 1/14 metal excavator scratch build w/embedded PC

The angle sensors are now in place and I've added the code in the motor controllers to:
- Read the angle sensors
- Set a max movement limit
- Set a min movement limit
- Set a customizable...

Re: 90 ton 1/14 metal excavator scratch build w/embedded PC

I'm working on the house body now, and even though I wrote this in another thread already, it really belongs in this thread.

To try to get the right dimensions on all the small scale features, I...

Re: 1:10 Scale articulated Dump truck Plastic.

I'm quite interested in an articulated hauler body parts model too. I'm thinking of doing one as my next project.

But this model looks a bit small. If the length of the model is 40 cm, then at...

Re: a scale starting point

I typically try to find a couple of measurements from a spec sheet, and then scale a photo or diagram as a canvas in fusion 360 to match the known sizes.

E.g. from the spec sheet of the CAT 390F...

Re: The ideal excavator transmitter

Hi,

We could keep it simple in the beginning, with maybe with just the channel mixing setup on the display.

But what would your ideal positions for the track controls be? Are the levers on the...

Re: good dozer gear motor

Bear in mind that a 3S LiPo battery only has an average voltage of 11.1 volts, but when it's full it's 12.6 volts and when it's completely empty it's 9.0 (but you shouldn't drain it that low). If you...

What would be the ideal controller for an excavator if you could dream one up?

I'm using the front analog triggers and the front buttons with my index and middle fingers to reverse the direction...

Re: Huddig 1260 articulated backhoe loader build

I can highly recommend Autodesk Fusion 360. I've worked with it for about a year now, and it doesn't stop to surprise we with even more features or smarts ways to work with models.
It's completely...

Re: 90 ton 1/14 metal excavator scratch build w/embedded PC

I also added a gas spring to the bucket, mostly for the visual appearance as the bucket is already way more powerful than it needs to be.

The spacers are made the same way as previously, cut tube...
