yes it is needed, because it is an esc to lift the forks up and then lower them down again
the esc for the drive motor is behind the motor

the small servo is for the mast to tilt there should be a motor for the drive axle

here is a picture of the internals, before I changed the 40mhz FM reciever for a planet R6M...

the cab is clipped together and is held onto the chassis by four screws two on either side of the truck
