Re: RC Benchy

That and the print time. The 2 main sections of the hull take about 28-30 hours to print - EACH. I had to print the forward section 3 times before I got a good part.

I THOUGHT I had a...

Re: Time for a rebuild

jerry56:

That's quite the transformation, it looks good in the dirt.

I got that same wheel/tire/axle combination to try on one of my Bruder conversions. But they were too small and didn't look...

Re: RC Benchy

A lot of sanding has been done to the hull, it's just about ready for primer, and sanding, and filling, and sanding, and more sanding. Then there's the pilot-house, and the turrets, and the gun...

Re: RC Benchy

There was SUPPOSED to be more to the above post, don't know what happened to the rest. Oh well...

I got my Weldon #4 order an Friday, and Benchy is starting to come together - literally....

Re: 3D Filament color match to Bruder

I got the sample of "Green Bay" yellow from COEX yesterday. The Green Bay yellow and the Construction yellow kind of fall on opposite sides of the spectrum to the yellow that Bruder uses. The green...

Re: RC Benchy

The RC Benchy from Thingiverse is a little bigger than that, it's about 15" to 16" long, and 7-1/2" to 8" wide. It's probably about 12" tall, I never measured it.

I built a prototype for the...

Re: What happened?

That's not really fair to you.

Some of the other forums that I belong to have "Supporting Members", people that are willing to kick in a few bucks to help defray the cost of the forum. I for one...

RC Benchy

I don't know if I'd exactly call it a boat or not, it's ugly enough to be cute. I stumbled across an RC version of Benchy on Thingiverse. If you're not into 3D printing. Benchy is used to benchmark...

Re: What happened?

Forum agreement, is that something you need money to fix? Do we need to kick in a couple of bucks to keep the lights on?

Re: What happened?

Totally agree, there's a lot of good info on here. (Plus I was starting to get the DT's, needed my construction fix.)

What happened?

Was it just me that the forum hated, or did the forum actually go away for a while?

I hadn't been able to access the site for over 3 weeks, kept getting the message that the server wasn't...

Re: 3D Filament color match to Bruder

The Matterhacker's Pantone 3546C is about as close of a match as I can find to the Bruder red, but it only comes in a 0.75Kg spool.

I said I wasn't going to do it again, but I ordered ANOTHER...

Re: Axle suggestions?

Frizzen:

If you've got a 3D printer you could probably print that gearbox. Properly designed 3D printed parts will stand up to a LOT of abuse, they just need plenty of wall thickness and plenty...

If you've got anything you want to share, open a thread, like you did here. Or just use this thread. I've never tried sharing a file on this site, I know with images in threads, the files have to...

That's an interesting concept, a fully street legal forklift.

Re: tiny hydro cylinders

The small cylinders won't be too much of a problem, as long as you don't exceed the pressure rating of the seals you might even get by using a pneumatic cylinder in a hydro set-up. Most pneumatic...

I ordered almost exactly the same stuff to see if it would work for a future Bruder Granite Liebherr crane conversion. The stuff looks great, but it's just a wee bit too small for the...

Re: John Deere 9 Series Tracked Tractor with Planetary Steering

I thought it was probably something like that. If I'm reading it right, the center section will telescope back when the wings fold, and telescope forward when the wings open. I know this is just a...

Re: John Deere 9 Series Tracked Tractor with Planetary Steering

Something is not making sense to me on the planter drawings, and that's the length of the triangle braces for the wings. It would seem to me that as the wings fold in, either those braces need to...

Re: Best location to add oil filter?

I would think that you would want to put the filter in a location so that the oil going out to the system from the pump is clean. That way you are using the cleanest oil possible. If you filter the...

Re: John Deere 9 Series Tracked Tractor with Planetary Steering

That's true for any vehicle that can pivot in place. There's just something about being forced to move sideways that treads/wheels don't like. Sometimes friction is our friend and then at other...

Yup, they are 71mm, they are cheap, and they look good. I wasn't sure about the size, but I ordered enough of them to do the truck. When they arrived I thought that they looked great...

We must. I'm pretty sure it's not the high pay, or the wild women, that keeps us coming back for more.
