Re: IH5070 Paystar 6X6 70+ ton rotator

Oh, you should definitely do a twin steer. You can find lots of photos on Tow411 (as you probably know already). There are also some on wreckerdriver. Here is a nice C500 twinsteer with a Miller...

Re: IH5070 Paystar 6X6 70+ ton rotator

They actually consider it a 100 ton rotator and Highpoint, now Avella, even put a 100 ton rating plate on it (which caused some debate on Tow411). B&B was going through the process to have it...

Re: My Pet peeve

The import laws can be pretty complicated. If there is duty payable, it depends on the country of origin as to how much duty is payable. It you really want to do reaseach, you can go through the...

Re: Vancouver Island

I let my wife buy whatever she wants and then she can't complain when I buy something. She's not really into the whole scale model / RC scene.

One day we'll have to get all of the Island guys...

Re: Vancouver Island

I love oilfield trucks. I was in Grande Prairie awhile back and saw plenty of twin steer pickers and bed trucks going through town. Camex Equipment has some good photos of oilifled trucks:

Re: Year old money pit, soon to be a skidder.I HOPE!

What do you need to cut out? An endmill makes a nice cut. I'd be happy to cut it for you on my mill ... but there's that shipping and time thing that doesn't really make it practical.

Re: Vancouver Island

So many ideas and so little time. I was planning to work on a skidder first but after seeing how many are in the works and seeing IronArt's awesome Tigercat, I think I may do something else. Like...

Wow! That skidder is amazing. I love the Tigercat. A 527 would be pretty nice too.

That's an awesome looking truck / rotator. Starting to look like the infamous "Kong" rotator out of New Jersey.

Re: Year old money pit, soon to be a skidder.I HOPE!

Nice start! At this pace you'll be done in no time. Love that cab. I have an old 1/16 John Deere skidder (2 actually, one for parts) but the cab is open, plastic and lacks detail. Are you going to...

Nice looking lowboy. I have bought the odd piece of metal at Home Depot but they are pretty pricey. I have bought a fair bit of metal (all kinds) from Online Metals. Their prices seem pretty good...

Re: CAT 535C Grapple Skidder

I thought Leimbach sold one but from memory it was pretty expensive. DSTI makes some hydraulic slip rings. I have no idea what they cost or if they would work in this application.
