Looks like we'll ...

Re: Cabin Fever 2017

We may need some pieces of 3/8 plywood for the rock crusher. Dragline rebuild has taken way longer than I imagined not leaving me a clear mind to build the ramp and larger hopper to accommodate the...

Re: 1/16 Bucyrus-Monighan Walking Dragline

I gave that some thought but I don't know how to do weathering other than how it looked prior to this rebuild. I know of a guy on the DHS Diecast site that weathers his crane models and they are...

Re: bending aluminum or copper tubing

I forgot to mention when using the Cerro alloy; You could encapsulate the entire part you are bending into a solid bar and position your tube or shape outside of the neutral axis of the bar. This...

Re: 1/16 Bucyrus-Monighan Walking Dragline

Thanks Kerst. See you in a week.

Now that it is looking better, I am more motivated to keep going on the build. Just been very busy the past few years to dedicate time to work on this. It's also...

Re: bending aluminum or copper tubing

Try this metal for filling a tube to bend. It melts at 158 deg F Cerrobend.

Re: 1/16 Bucyrus-Monighan Walking Dragline

Here are some more pictures of the I beam frame coming together. I spent about 28-30hrs putting this much together. Every hole had to be re-tapped to make sure the 0-80 screws go in easily. My...

Re: 1/16 Bucyrus-Monighan Walking Dragline

I knew it would have to be done someday Ed. I never put all of the screws in it because it would take too long to put them in and remove them when the time comes. It also costs a few bucks just to...

Re: 1/16 Bucyrus-Monighan Walking Dragline

We got the 9W out of my trailer to get it ready for Cabin Fever Expo and I was surprised how bad it looked from the past few outings. Seems it rained every time I took it out or the humidity was so...

Re: Great Dane excavating co.

RW, After seeing your measurements, I looked at the specs for the 785D and it appears you have it scaled 1/12. I am guessing your tires are about 17" wide.
I'm going to make the loading ramp...
