I was in the market for a front axle awhile ago and I did nearly buy one of those as you have pictured but then I found out you can buy a parts bag with suspension and C clamps and spacer pads etc so...

the bigger back body gives you more room. There was another guy I talked to about the counter weight should be the oil tank and I couldn't agree more. oil's heavy...

another option is on ebay there is guys selling replacement string for old tonkas etc. its a bit thicker though. fishing line would get you the most wraps per spool.

ya those tamiya rear suspension setups are not cheap.. almost worth buying a flat deck for the parts then to sell off the deck/etc to recoup costs.

ya you would need a low kv crawler motor.

i have a 5200kv in my F350 dually and I cant even accell half way in 3rd without spinning the rear end around and doing donuts...

the other day I jammed mine into 2nd and it caught funny and shut down the truck. Maybe check the tranny to make sure you have 3rd assembled right? only thing i can think...

yeah that is a big problem with those. I see metal ones still do that. only real way to get away from that is to go fiberglass and even then there...
