Re: Best location to add oil filter?

I would think that you would want to put the filter in a location so that the oil going out to the system from the pump is clean. That way you are using the cleanest oil possible. If you filter the...

Re: John Deere 9 Series Tracked Tractor with Planetary Steering

That's true for any vehicle that can pivot in place. There's just something about being forced to move sideways that treads/wheels don't like. Sometimes friction is our friend and then at other...

Just wanted to let you know that you inspired me into trying an LCD project.

Re: Tires for conversions

Jerry:

Yup, they are 71mm, they are cheap, and they look good. I wasn't sure about the size, but I ordered enough of them to do the truck. When they arrived I thought that they looked great...

Re: Tires for conversions

We must. I'm pretty sure it's not the high pay, or the wild women, that keeps us coming back for more.

Re: Tires for conversions

Blame it on an obviously miss-spent youth, hanging around with the "wrong" type of people.

I've been looking for tires in the 75-77mm OD range that I'll need for another Bruder conversion that's...

Re: Tires for conversions

Here's another option for tires for conversions - roll your own. If you've got a 3D printer it's simpler, cheaper, and faster than it sounds. I'm including 3 links to YouTube videos.

All of...

Re: 3D Filament color match to Bruder

OKEEY-DOKEE, the Matterhackers spool of red arrived today, it's Pantone 3546 C. It's a nice red, but it's not really a close match. It's too something, bright might be the best word. It's more of...

Re: 3D Filament color match to Bruder

Been a while since I updated this thread.

Matterhackers was a no on the samples. They did recently list a Pantone red that MIGHT be close, I pulled the trigger on a spool of that color. There's...

I know what yopu mean about long-term projects, I started my Manitou build in November, 2019. I know what you mean about fuzzy memories. I started posting that project on another forum,...

Re: Tires for conversions

In the spirit of sharing, I've got a couple of Bruder conversions in the works that I have been gathering parts for. I found these on Ebay, but haven't bought any yet....

Re: 1:10ish Reach Stacker for "conex" cargo containers

dremu:

Couple of questions for you:

1 - What sensor did you use for the pitch and roll detection? I've got an idea rattling around in my head that I can use an Arduino to auto-level a Manitou...

Re: Cat Ride On Conversion

If you do decide to do any conversions, just be sure that you don't do anything irreversible.

I've never seen one like this before. I've seen some kid powered diggers in parks/playgrounds, but...

Oh that's a definite keeper as is, with or without the original sound module. I have never seen anything like it.

Looks like it's even got a latch for locking the boom in the up position for...

I was wondering about that myself since the posts didn't seem to have much relevance to that particular forum.

Tamiya gearboxes

There have been several Bruder conversions that have used the Tamiya gearboxes, by SmallHaul and others. I was just wondering how these gearboxes have stood up to the test of time.

Re: Cockshutt 70 tractor (1935-48)

Yup, no rocket science to it at all. They're just a place to park your butt and your feet. All you need is a basic frame to keep the butt, foot and back boards from sliding around on the wagon...

Re: Cockshutt 70 tractor (1935-48)

Most of the ones I've seen at fairs have been similar - but different. The ones I've seen have usually been on a converted wagon chassis with back to back bench seats and a foot rest that was a few...

I ordered a spool of the "scarlet", but I think I may have screwed up on who I ordered it from, because it's not even close to the sample. I'll use it somewhere, I'm printing out parts for stuff in...
