Re: Ny-Lint Mobile Dragline Conversion

Looks good jim-you seem to have plenty of power and you probably couldn't build a drag bucket large enough to carry that much weight in dirt. However, watching the video it looks like your boom angle...

Re: Ny-Lint Mobile Dragline Conversion

Looking good jim. Does your lathe have thread cutting capabilities? If so, you could cut laggings in the drums to keep ropes from crawling on top of each other. May not be a problem on this. The...

Re: Ny-Lint Mobile Dragline Conversion

Looks like you are making some progress jim- I see you are learning the machining side of modeling. It's fun as a hobby but I think you will find that buying tooling is a never-ending process. I...

Re: Photo Sharing Sites (Photobucket?)

Jim-I like P.B. personally. I have posted over 150 pictures and 5-8 videos and have only used up roughly 2% of my space. You can create your own albums and add the pictures as you go. Just look thru...

Re: Loading Some Coal at the Brownsville Show

Well steve-looks like the coal seam is about gone in this pit. Time to open a new cut. :D I'm sure everyone was enjoying themselves. I always wanted to make this show.

Re: Milling a 4-jaw chuck??

I agree-chucks are expensive!!! That's why I think using shims is a terrible idea. I have 12 ends to round and that would require a lot of set-up time. For what I paid for this I want to use it as it...

Okay machinist, I need some help. I bought a 4-jaw chuck for my lathe since I need to turn round ends on some .125" square shaft. The chuck will only close to .250". Could the angled sides of the...

Re: 990 cat loader

Tires look great steve! I looked thru your thread trying to find out why the front fenders are not painted and all I found was "the painter didn't do it". Will you do this later? This model will look...

Re: Volvo A40F

This is a nice build you have started. All the work is top-notch, just like your other builds. I enjoy watching how you design the parts and then machine all the pieces. Great work!!

Re: 777 HAUL TRUCK (1/12 size)

Nice video!! To me the truck operation is very realistic which is what I really like. I think a lot of people operate their models too fast and that makes it look like a toy. This looks like the real...

Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)

Re: First build ,cat D11

Looks like the dozer is working a bit better now. By just watching the video it looks like the up-down movement of the blade is too quick. May need to slow that down to get long full consistent...
