Re: First Truck Build

The truck looks really good! So does the dump box Reg is doing for you, nice style. Should turn out to be a real nice truck. Are you going to have the dump bed painted or raw? What color are you...

Re: Grand Hauler Half Round Dump Box

Great work Reg. You've really expanded out with the new styles and trailers. They really look good! Keep up the good work. They make a lot of us happy.

Re: Trailer parts

You can use part #s (more than one) and search for it online. If you have the part #s try at Tamiya USA. Some times they are out of stock on items, sometimes not.
The place I like to shop for what...

Re: Johnny's Grand Hauler

If it gets frustrating you should walk away for a while. It's supposed to be fun. These (Tamiya) are really pretty well designed. They are all pretty much the same in their workings underneath the...

Re: Johnny's Grand Hauler

Just my 2 cents. I would recommend the Tamiya MFC-01 over the $80 one. More pricey but I think you'll find it easier to program and operate. I'm not knocking the other product but went that way once...

Re: First Truck Build

Here is what I looked up. Really close to these sizes. Only 1/8 = the exact decimal. A 1/16 = .0625, but close enough.

.030=1/32
.040=3/64
.060=1/16
.125=1/8

The .010 is thin but easier to...

Re: First Truck Build

About the same size as the body panels. I just measured the stuff I used (comes in sheets) and it is 1/16", but I think they measure it different? I would go thinner for clear window material. Just...

Re: First Truck Build

Hi again Kausekaos,
Just another thought, for the rear glass. The sheet you have in the picture looks thick? (hard to tell) Plastistrut also makes clear plastic thin sheet (styrene) that is easy to...

Re: First Truck Build

The Tamiya putty is good for fine filler(like scratches, etc...) but you need bondo to fill the gap of the cut. I used "Evercoat" #100416 metal coat. (Ebay) A lot of people on the forum recommend...

Re: New Grand Hauler

I'm going through the same situation with a new 8 channel and was wondering the same thing. (haven't gotten that far yet) That being said, Don't hook up a battery pack with MFC-01, it will damage it...

Re: Something I have been building in the cloud...

This is great! I was scanning down, seeing the different size trucks in progression, got to the bottom and noticed you put in metric and inch. Very nice! A lot easier than going and converting.

Re: Something I have been building in the cloud...

First off I like your build forums, they're great.
I like the length diagrams, but as previously said, is it possible to also give full length of truck included (bumper to bumper), and a possible...

Reg is a great guy!!

I have purchased 2 items from him, 1 was a removable FLATBED(about 2 months ago), and 2 was a GRAVEL DUMP BOX (received it yesterday), both amazing!!

Re: questions from a newb

Hey Daveroo, I would recommend going with the MFU and support legs. The 2 work together so you can connect, disconnect the trailer, raise , lower the legs, all at the same time from the radio. The...
