Re: Video of New and Improved Lock Chamber

If I ever make my wife's pond bigger this is what would happen. I would need a tug and some coal barges.

Re: Metso Lokotrack LT120, Jaw Crusher.

I noticed too that the plates need to be offset . It would definitely take less effort to crack a rock in half pressing it over a sharp point evenly rather than pinching it like wire cutters work.

Re: Gravel screener build

I got it to work from your photo site.
Looks like you got something there. That conveyor sure needs a lower angle though. I hope to be working on something like this soon too.

Re: 1/16 Bucyrus-Monighan Walking Dragline

Ha. The vintage1:1 machine this represents is small compared to newer models.

Thanks for the interest in my build. Wish I could work on it more but time is limited due to running my business.

Re: Great Dane excavating co.

Very nice. You can just fuse those seams together without filler but you need to be careful not to round over the sharp edge or you will need some filler to grind off.

Re: Great Dane excavating co.

That sure looks like a nice place. I always admire those big stone farm houses while traveling East.
Changing the subject; where did you get that fancy welding table?

I would bolt it also. Or, Mig it and grind the weld down smooth. Bring it down to my shop and we can do it for you free.

Re: Tig welder to purchase.

I have a Lincoln Square Wave 255 I bought it new in 1997 for about $2600 at the time. I added a water cooled Tweco gun about $175 a Lincoln foot pedal about $130 and a Lincoln water cooler ~$500 ....

Re: Ny-Lint Mobile Dragline Conversion

My question is the same Jim. But, if you think about it, when the cable dips down or up it goes off center pulling on the wheels rather than the rollers.

Re: Metso Lokotrack LT120, Jaw Crusher.

How did you join the conveyor belt? Do you have any pictures of that and what exactly is the belt material? Cloth reinforced rubber?

Re: Great Dane excavating co.

I just thought of something. Did you figure the camber and caster out on your steering geometry? It looks like everything is 90deg of each other. There was a big discussion about this on "Dads...

Re: Interesting Mining Video

Nice video. The humming sounds you hear in the cab of the dragline are the variable inductors mounted to the ends of the control levers. I replaced mine with 10K potentiometers to control my speed...

Re: 1/16 Bucyrus-Monighan Walking Dragline

The machine fared well in the trailer Tom. There is a bunch of surface rust from Labor Day because I forgot to spay her down with some WD40.

I got the incoming power supply wired up pretty well...
