Realised I haven't posted an update for a while.
Made a flat body out of a mixture of aluminium c section and brass. The wood has been darkeneed with pigment wood stain to be a darker colour.

Thanks for the comments guys, I am in wiring and soldering **** at the moment, making a harness for all the lights and getting the (approx) 14 miles of wire to sit neatly in the truck out of site...

Well I finally got round to taking a couple of pics in the sun!
The cab is done and the chassis painted. Crane works a treat, which means I spend more time playing with it than I do finishing it...

Thanks guys, the crane is made by Leimbach in Germany.
I have made some more progress over the past few weeks and will put some pics up this weekend. Truck is painted and the crane now works....

Slight update to the truck tonight...
I soldered together a rear bumper bar ( called an under run bar in the UK) and fitted a Carson trailer coupling.
The bar does not look quite straight in...

It is not the easiest kit to assemble, mainly because the instructions are all in German...

I did look in to the channel expander thing that Leimbach do, I came to the conclusion the a second receiver would be better or a couple of reasons:
