Re: Radios

That's high-quality kit right there.
But it's also quite a bit of money.

I'm not sure if money is an issue for you, but if it is:

There are a number of options of what you could do, but...

Re: Mack M75SX

Great setup for the haul road!
Although, as your resident health&safety expert, I urge you to install rails to prevent your beaut from plunging to death :(

About the speed: Can't you squeeze in a...

Re: Tournarocker Diversion Build

These motors are close to the RB35 (popular in Europe) and even come in more rpm choices:
http://servocity.com/html/3-12v_gear_motors.html

Edit: these might be the same that Espeefan suggested?...

Re: Tournarocker Diversion Build

Some things to consider:

Angle the whole assembly slighty (or a lot) upwards. This might offer a bit of space.

Use motors with non-concentric (eccentric) output shafts and arrange them so that...

Re: Cat 777D Mining Truck

Sorry :(
I'm sure I could explain it in person!

But if it works now, that's excellent :)

Re: Mack LRVSW

Looks fantastic! Great to see the overview of the beast!

The bed frame/channels from aluminium look good to me in proportion.
So, my honest question: What would be gained by doing them in brass?...

Re: Cat 777D Mining Truck

> "WAAY OVER MY HEAD".

Sorry, didn't know how to say it simple.

But it seems you already got the relay, and you are also very short for space, so my point was moot.
But allow me to...

Re: Cat 777D Mining Truck

Tom might be able to "switch" the ESC.
If the radio sets the servo full left or full right, this corresponds to up (forward) or down (reverse) with the ESC.
If the command from the receiver is...

Re: Cat 777D Mining Truck

A switch is basically just a potentiometer with two (or three or in some cases even more)) settings.

So it really depends what positions the switch tells the receiver to move the servos to. I...

Re: Cat 777D Mining Truck

I cannot really comment on the wiring issue, as I don't know how it looks inside.

However, I do believe that two "half channels" with two servo positions each is all you need:
Channel 3: light...

Re: Cat 777D Mining Truck

As I quoted above from Scale 4x4:

"However, if you open up your radio and switch the wires that go from the 3 position toggle switch to the 2 position switch, you will have a "TRUE" 3 position...

There are different types of the TQ4 with different behaviours.

It seems...

Re: CAT Grader in 1:14 with M-Series controls

Thanks guys :)

D/R on the forward/reverse gives you a much finer-grained control on the stick.

With D/R the full stick movement means only half (or so) of the speed, so it makes...

Re: CAT Grader in 1:14 with M-Series controls

Thanks :)

You are right about the lurching.
I did have Dual/Rate programmed. (That's the red button in my earlier video of the controls.)
However, for whatever reason, I cannot get the ESC to...

Re: CAT Grader in 1:14 with M-Series controls

Thanks again :)

I was at the beach, testing the new driven front axle - works very well.
But then the steering servo stopped working. It came back to life for a few seconds later. Not sure what...

Re: low budget loader,I hope!

Fantastic!
Not sure I would classify that hydraulic as low budget, though ;)
I _would_ class this build as very awesome, though :)

Cheers

I uploaded two new videos.

Re: ServoNaut M220

Yes, the BMA can be used alone.
Check the wiring diagram:

You can see that the connection between BMA and...

Superb!

Re: Small Haul #5

FWIW, I never had luck with these "auto calibrating" ESCs. If there is any tiny glitch in the powersupply, it will send them to calibrate mode. Can cause quite a crash with faster onroad racers....

No worries, we can't tell a Pete from a Kennie if you'd hide the badge.
Well, maybe Freightliner and Mack are discernible, but not really in COE configuration.

Also, it's hardly surprising that...
