Re: 1972 AMC Matador - Police

Oh, I can assure you that any building I make would not be scaled/stick built!

I did leave the Lebanon show kinda thinking it needed some buildings or other stuff. The loading dock there...

Re: 1972 AMC Matador - Police

I just noticed this - by 'I've got an old cop car' are you referring to this Matador, or a real-life copcar?

For my CNC router, it has x-y travel of about 24" x 26", but I figured out a technique...

Re: 1972 AMC Matador - Police

If you guys wanna get serious about building some buildings, I could turn my CNC router loose on cutting wallpanels with door and window openings. Probably have enough scraps around to get started....

Re: New Truck

What he said.
1. The 1/14 truck market is small compared to the rest of the RC vehicle world.
2. For the rest of the RC vehicle world, most isn't driven toward realism - even the realistic ones...

Re: New Tamiya Mercedes Arocs 3348

Re: Looking for help from the pros here! Maintainer truck?

These are a little small, about 4" wide, so around 1/24-1/25 scale.

Re: Fury Fan's foibles and follies - homebrewed and crude!

The next version is longer, has more realistic framerails, smaller screwheads, leafspring suspension, and mudflaps. I have a few half-baked ideas for landing legs but nothing I'm satisfied with yet....

Re: Fury Fan's foibles and follies - homebrewed and crude!

Then I started on a flatbed trailer. Nothing fancy - wooden rails, wooden bed, with aluminum bits added on. No suspension - just made an alum plate to hold a pair of ebay axles/wheels/tires.

I...

foibles and follies - homebrewed and crude!

Then I got this broken horse trailer (it's large-scale!) that needed a new tongue.

foibles and follies - homebrewed and crude!

Another few things and then I'll be into my road-truck stuff. Most of these things were just CNC practice toward RC stuff.

I'd been making some 6-slot Lincoln logs and they needed a trailer. All...

Re: new project - 2 straight tank trucks

Correct by both guys. Most trucks that have a bunch of axles are for road-loading regulations (aka bridge laws) for the roads they travel, it's independent of the GAWRs the truck is built with. For...

Re: My Tamiya 40' Container trailer

Postimage.org seems like a good free photo-host site, too.
And it'll let you upload a bunch at one time, very easy to use.
They have a handful of web-sharing link options, 1 of them works fairly...

Re: Mack R Model - By Izzy

FWIW, I'm really pleased with postimage.org so far.
Free (so far) and lots of web-posting image options for picture size.

(I met you at the Lebanon show and we chatted a little bit about me...

Re: Fury Fan's foibles and follies - homebrewed and crude!

Next up is a DBGM blow-molded toy. Back in childhood I had 'the big green car' made by DBGM in West Germany.

Forgot all about it, until I happened to see one in a neighbor's basement (20 years...

Re: Fury Fan's foibles and follies - homebrewed and crude!

Handles weight just fine, but the trailer bounces around a bit.

Yes!!! That's it. Now that I know what it's called, surely I can find it in the store. Thanks!

Thanks!

I'm building...

Re: Fury Fan's foibles and follies - homebrewed and crude!

I don't shop at HD too much, pretty sure not from there, likely would be Menards or Mcmaster, but can't see it on their shelves/in my order history.

I've typed the barcode #s and the molded-in #s...

Fury Fan's foibles and follies - homebrewed and crude!

Now that I've figured out what photo-site I want to use, it's time to stop lurking and post some pictures. These will cross some category lines, but I'm mostly a semi-truck guy, so I'll be putting...

Re: NEW Indy show 2018

Thanks!

Yes, a Bruder with Tamiya wheels, Subaru Brat in rear, Frog/Hornet in front. 'Standard' ebay steer axle up front (hard-mounted) and a 540 motor running an XL-sized belt-drive. No...

Re: NEW Indy show 2018

As a newb here and first-timer to such a show, it was a good experience.

Talked with Frizzen, Izzy and Mustang46555 - all good gents! (talked with some others but didn't get names)

Would've...

Re: 1983-91 Econoline Ambulance

Loved the Mother Juggs and Speed reference!
And is that copcar a Matador? What is it, who made it?
