Re: Scania airport fire truck

Got the ladder smoothed out a bit, so it's actually not too bad now. Currently working on the part that's mounted to the roof.

Got the stickers from Stickerapp (http://www.stickerapp.com). I...

Re: Engine 51 and Squad 51 colour

After some googling I found that you might be referencing a pair of classic american engines from a 1970's show called "Emergency!". Is that correct?

I don't know the exact answer, but if it helps...

Re: Fully 3D printed John Deere 1/10 scratch build

That display looks really good. Very good job! I expected a simple text display, not sharp good looking graphics. I'll have to reconsider making the center console display in my fire truck functional...

Re: bigfords trucks

Very nice! That was so smooth.
May I ask what the gearing/motor combo is on the yellow one though? That was a very nice slow roll.

Re: Scale ratchet straps

They look really good. How much play time can a set of the small ones handle? And how much like threading a needle is it to use them? Should I try to make a couple of them to strap down my ladder?

Re: Scania airport fire truck

A lot of friction, but it's working!
https://youtu.be/u6E1-i7fYuM

The people who designed this ladder are a lot smarter than me. The pulley system for the bottom/middle section has a 2:1...

Re: Scania airport fire truck

Got started on the pulley system. Still not sure if it will actually work, as there will probably be too much friction in those tiny pieces. And I'm 99% certain that the rope actually passes through...

Re: Scania airport fire truck

Finally found the ladder. Wibe NOR-BAS. Here's a spare parts pdf with good drawings of the ladder and pulley system. Maybe there's hope of figuring it out now....

Re: Scania airport fire truck

It's apparently nitro fuel tubing, although I've never seen anyone use black fuel line in an rc car, and I've never seen these dimensions. https://www.ebay.com/itm/401073783505

As far as I can...

Re: Scania airport fire truck

Thank you!

Ladder progress. I'm not sure how the pulley system works on the real one, so I don't know if I'll make it functional or just glue everything together.

When you hit the post button and the site refreshes, are you still logged in after, or does it show the login thing in the top right corner? Have you tried another web browser?

Re: Fully 3D printed John Deere 1/10 scratch build

Yes, please do an oled display and document everything about that for us.

Everything is looking really good. Looks like you've planned this out nicely.

Re: Scania airport fire truck

No, I said $100 *more*. It was actually close to $200 for a decal sheet around A4/letter size (large elements cut from black vinyl and small printed on clear vinyl).

I've just ordered 3 sheets of...

Re: Scania airport fire truck

The quote I got for making the decals was about 100$ more than I expected, so there's a chance I might have a go at making them myself.

Meanwhile:
Chest for the roof. Started by making a small...

Re: getting the ar 9020 and xplus 8 to bind

As far as I can tell from the website and manual, you don't need to bind the xplus, as it's not wireless. After plugging it in to the ar9020 it should just work, as long as the jumpers are set...

Re: Help with "first" kit/ globe build

I guess the only thing to check is if you want a spring loaded, self centering throttle axis, you may want to check that your chosen radio can do that.

I think a lot of people choose to use other...

Re: Help with "first" kit/ globe build

I see no reason why those parts shouldn't work fine together.
I like the 3rd one, but the second one in blue with orange stripes would be nice too :)

Re: Scania airport fire truck

Working on the water tank. It's made from 1mm styrene and comfortably holds about a half gallon / 2 liters of water. The bottom is sloped to help the last bits of water find its way to the pump.
