Re: Mack R model ten wheeler dump

Did you scratch build that cab? That looks nice. I'm really interested to hear your thoughts on that Carson screw drive. I've been considering one for a dump trailer. I'm curious to know how well...

Re: Movie Optimus Prime build

Looks so good Bob, I can't see any flaws on it anymore, even though I know they are there. Heck of a result for a practice Optimus Prime! Beautiful. The next one will be an incredible treat to the...

Re: CHIP TRAILER

Cool build. I see these trailers all the time, and thought it would make a neat project. Good to see something totally different. Let us know how it turns out. You are off to a great start. ...

Re: a little sweet tooth

I was going to say 'awesome paint job', but it's a wrap? No matter. It looks pretty sweet none the less! Definitely the meanest looking delivery truck around.

Re: "Project Bittersweet"

Nice work Russ. I like the metal touches. The rear cab panel, the deck plate, and the tank steps. Nice touches for a stock bodied cab. All you need to do is throw one of the new 3D printed...

Re: New Project!

This a really cool build. I've seen the Blocher kits, and I always thought they were nice. I am sure those kits inspired you, and there is nothing wrong with that! I like the simple, clean, and...

Fancy! I still can't believe that things like this can be printed. Incredible. Those are some nice looking fire hydrants! :D

Re: New guy on the chopping block

My mistake! The Altered I am thinking of must be a different guy. He's actually from Florida, if I remember rightly. Can't be you! But no matter, glad to have you here.

Re: Full frame Dump trailer build ?

Unfortunately dirt doesn't scale well, and so our model trucks require a lot more violent rocking to loosen the load then the 1:1 rigs. Sometimes with wet sand or dirt, that may not even work.

Re: 1950 Kenworth Needlenose

Sorry Reg, nothing new to show on this project right now. I ran into a case of having to remake some new parts that I am not happy with, so until I can figure them out to my liking, there probably...

Re: He is at it again! 1:50 Dozer Conversion

Jim, glad to see you are still working on this project. It's pretty amazing what you've been able to accomplish with such a small model. Those little motors sure sound strong and the dozer seems to...

Re: John Deere 650 Dozer

Wow, that's a very nice RC conversion in the works. The links look like machined brass to me. The pads and grousers look soldered. Kind of gives me some ideas, actually.

Re: New guy on the chopping block

Altered....the same Altered from Scale 4x4, who was working on a Ford F-350 4 door cab? Welcome to the forum. Your truck is definitely different. Personally, I'd rather the truck had a little more...

Re: Movie Optimus Prime build

Bob, that paint job really shines in natural sunlight! Despite the flaws, it's still really beautiful. Especially with all the aluminum/chrome parts added to the cab. Very nice. I don't blame you...

Re: Tools for the bigger jobs...

A milling machine and a lathe. Best tool I ever purchased was my bench top milling machine. Someday I'd like to get a lathe as well. :D

I didn't know it was possible to 3D print with brass. That little crowbar looks pretty cool.

Re: Flame tipped exhaust stacks!?

I kind of thought these stacks looked like Elmer Fudd's gun barrel, after Bugs Bunny plugged the end with a carrot. :D

Re: Kenworth 850 Off Highway

Nice to see a lowboy build from you, Reg! I didn't know these trucks could still handle a lowboy without a 5th wheel plate, and without removing the log bunk turntable. I might not be speaking with...

Re: Pistol grip remote

Dave, Traxxas is making a pretty decent pistol grip 4 channel radio these days too. 2.4 giga-hertz. Maybe not quite Futaba or Spektrum level, but nice. Might be worth a look.

Re: Flame tipped exhaust stacks!?

Wow, that's pretty unique. I wonder if these pipes are cut with a CNC plasma or laser, then rolled and welded along the seam. That would seem to be the most practical and logical way to make a lot...

Re: First king build

Welcome to the forum. Nice to see you share your first truck with us. For removing chrome you could try some Easy Off oven cleaner, or a product called Super Clean, which comes in a purple bottle...

Re: A second life...as a Pete 281

Interesting project Frank. I'm curious to see how this turns out. The fenders could probably be used, but I think I would try to sand down the lip so that it's thinner, like the 1:1 Peterbilt 281.
