Yes you can buy the shafts separate from the yokes. I'll have to look the P/N's up when I get home and post them.

Take a close look at the shafts in the photo they are built based on the info in this thread the universals are traxas steel with a set screw.

I use K&S brass tube which is an easier fit than the aluminum tube, but the rest is the same.

Im running a 55T through the Tamiya 3 spd into the Axial trans as my my t-case no other reduction. Plenty of climbing power loaded, empty in sand dirt whatever, works fine.

Speaker locations on these things are a personal thing depending on cab configuration and what all else you want to cram in there. One thing you need to watch when moving that tranny forward is...

Did you give a thought to moving the motor transmission assembly forward? If it'll still clear the hood it would give you more room for the drive shaft and less material to remove from the floor....

Check out posts 42-44 in the link below to see what I did, if you look close you'll see that I took the lower rear case screw off the transmission. You will have clearance issues if you don't lift...

If you haven't decided on a transfer case, take a look at an Axial transmission. Remove the motor plate and do a little modification to the input shaft and it gives about a 3:1 reduction, its also...

Here's a reason why I built a dedicated test chassis. I bought one of these motor/planetary drives, 437RPM @ 12v. The volt range on the motor is 6-12v so I ran it off my 7.2V battery realizing it...

It can be done but it takes a lot of modification to do it. Based on the wheel base your working with, moving the 3 spd back and modify it is going to take up space needed for you dump mechanism...

Since your using the stock 3 spd, rails and the axial trans for a transfer case you'll have issues with front driveshaft routing. You'll either have to space the 3 spd up as high as possible or ditch...

Besides all of the photos on the internet I found a spec brochure that has profile drawings with the over all dimensions and expanded the drawings in my copier...
