I added some chains to hold the tank in place as it slipped off the trailer when first tested. The turn buckle is there to put tension on the chains once they're attached to the tank.

Next job was to add some wooden boards. I made these from balsa wood and cut grooves in the wood to look like planks. I capped the edges with "U" shaped aluminum to hold the balsa wood in place and...

Running boards next. These are made from 60mm x 5mm flat aluminum and are bolted to the outriggers. As the scale of the tank is a bit small, I purposely made the running boards narrower so the tank...

The next step was to add the cross members and outriggers. These are made of solid aluminum square rod which was cut and threaded by my local friendly machine shop.

I added the correct wheels (to be painted) and a new fifth wheel with pinion and it's atowable trailer.

Now for a suspension test, will it be able to take the weight of the tank? The simple answer was no!

The trailer I designed on 2d autocad, basically I measured the length of the tank and made the trailer to suit. The tank weighs around 8kg, so the trailer needed to be fairly strong.
