Re: A KISS D11 PROJECT

Tom, a drop of red Loctite should do the trick. All you have to do is heat it up a little to remove the nut if you have too. Another great idea on how to make tracks. Thanks

Re: My dozer I have been wanting for a while.

Travis, Paint job is coming along nicely and it going to be a nice machine. I see on your bench a mixing container so you must buy your paint by the quart. Have you ever tried the Cat rattle cans...

Re: Cat 777D Mining Truck

Tom. Your video is just like it would be in the real pit. Both the shovel and the 777 look and operate with precision . Great work on both pieces and I do hope that you can plan for something to...

Re: Steamer

Nathan, TNT Lou was cleaning out his closet and I just happened to be there at the right time. I always wanted to build a mining truck and this was a great opportunity to do a conversion.

Thanks Clyde. You bet, I'm having fun with this one.
Reg. Tamiya made these tires for the Mammoth and they're 6" dia 2 1/4" wide with a 2 1/2" rim. Made the rims from delron as they wanted $40.00...

Re: Track roller shape?

Terry, because of the side profile of the 35 chain if you make rollers it will be a bumpy ride Most guys just profile the rollers and use a Teflon slide that fits inside the links of the chain. That...

Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)

Joe, I see a Wedico pump under the dump truck. Just wondering if you've any issues with it. Going to use two pumps for the 789, one for each cylinder with one common oil tank.
By the video it looks...

Re: Masking Tape Help

I'm stuck on the Tamiya tape. It's a little more expensive, but it has sure has saved a lot of repaints.

Ari. I don't know what else to say, except this is got to be one of the best construction models that I have ever seen. The detail is exceptional and the model runs superb. You should be very proud....

Re: Volvo EC300D

Reg, the only suggestion that I would make is to change from the round actuators on the spools to leavers. If you stagger the height of the arms then you could run every other spool with two servos...

Re: Bruder Conveyor

JD, it works great. About the only improvement I would make is to tip the rear of the hopper up more to improve the flow on the belt. Speed is about perfect with a full belt.
