It's dooable. I know a feller in our Rc club that has a Tamiya 3 speed transmission coupled to a 2 speed transmission. He now has 6 gear & they all function. He only takes the 2 speed into high gear...

As far as finding a KW grill that's aluminum.................they're about as rare as rocking horse poop! There are some 3D prints available from Shapeways that look like they'd work.
