Glad you guys are interested in the project! I'd also love to find a tractor mounted Barber-Greene, but the price was RIGHT on this one.

So first i made the missing things and got everything...

Barber-Greene Tracked Bucket Elevator - 1946

As usual mine is a little rough and needed some work, but really it's not too bad for being 74 years old....

Re: HIAB X-HIPRO 1058 loader crane

If it does decide it needs help to sequence the segments correctly, you could probably make it work some little plates with a 'metered orifice' installed at hose connections, or making a 'calibrated...

Re: Alternative to hydraulics In my dozer.

I know i'm weird and like old stuff, but those cable dozers look really cool!

Re: KH Beam Hauler

That's a really sharp Merc outfit. Was it an old tamiya body, or Freddy custom?

Are the trailer tires supposed to have that much offset? Looks good either way.

Re: Valmet 931

Really impressive rig, it'll be fun watching this come together.

You could add a pressure pot to the casting process to help get the bubbles to rise, or if it's an open top mold you can pop the...

Re: VW bay-window transporter

Thank you! Yes, that is a Lego wheel and rotation plate turned into a Caster assembly. It was easier than making the whole thing out of brass and a 1/43 car wheel to see if it kinda works. It's still...

Re: Scale ratchet straps

I just ran across a 'ratchet' idea that should be easier and better looking than my 'bent 8' buckles. Also uses doubled hook ends that should be stronger but more tricky to make than my 'coat...

Re: VW bay-window transporter

I might have mentioned that i came from Rock Crawlers and thought steering servos should be able to swing the chassis around... Anyway, we're going to bring it down to 'more reasonable' and better...

Re: Gearmotor problems

I know some 90 deg angle boxes don't tolerate abrupt stop/starts.

Can you open them up and grab pics so we can help figure out what went wrong?

Re: Gearmotor problems

How many volts and amps is the motor rated at?
How many amps on the esc running it?

Do they seem to operate kinda close to a no-load speed in the model? Is the motor struggling to come up to...

Re: Pump gear what if?

For a flow test, couldn't you just unhook the pressure output and route line to some kind of cup, then move the pump esc into a non-mixed channel at 100% epa.

For the mushy lifting, is there a way...

Re: HIAB X-HIPRO 1058 loader crane

Glad you found a source for some tape, otherwise i was going to have to ask how much you needed and hope shipping to finland wasn't too crazy.

Keep up the killer work!

Re: Wanco vertical mast arrow board

Thank you wombii, it took a while to figure out how i could reduce it down to this design. I was hoping it might be less intimidating for a hobbiest following along at home. I didn't want to design...

Re: HIAB X-HIPRO 1058 loader crane

Beautiful machining, that's coming along great! Touch them with a deburring tool and those cylinder parts are like jewlery.

Any luck on finding the sliding teflon tape, or does it look smooth...

Re: Gasket maker (and etc)

If you're going to do it the hard way, can you make a gasket punch? Sharpen a tube with the right ID for the OD you'd like the gasket to have. It'll have more of a fighting chance at sealing than...

Re: VW bay-window transporter

Heh. Ok, I'll see what i can do.

A 'one wheel trailer' is a light-duty thing, usually for cars. (1/4 ton or less payload) They had 2 bolt-on bumper brackets that were different depending on...
