After further inspection, may have answered my own question as to how it's powered... appears the slew servo is mounted top-side with pinion gear matching up to the gyro. I guess that means the gyro...

Auh, i see... thanks for clearing that up Pugs... steep learning curve here, but I'll get there. In that case, I suspect I'll be going electric on the cylinders since hydraulic still seems too...

Any updates to post on recommended cylinder sizes for a Bruder Cat conversion? And recommended pump and valve? Curious how HRC worked out too?

Hi, any chance you can post the links to each? (1) McMaster-Carr air cylinders for years now with (2) Liembach hyd pumps and (3) spools

Trying to find an alternative to running hydraulic oil......

I'm right there with you guys as far as budget. It's hard to justify $7k-$10k on one unit, although if I won the lottery, I would by a full fleet of them! I've been researching options for months...
