Re: Scania 112
Fried printer huh??? I'm not gonna ask if it tastes just like chicken.
You're not alone though.... A couple of years ago I managed to static zap the input board on my Monoprice clone of a Wanhao...

Crueby's at it again
Crueby over on the Home Engine Maker forum is at it again. This time he's building an RC 1:12 scale 19-RB. https://www.modelenginemaker.com/index.php/topic,11815.0.html
(He's normally an RC sub...

Re: Tires for conversions
I got my "narrow" tires last night, the wide tires are apparently still on a slow boat from somewhere. I originally thought these were 76mm OD tires, they aren't, they're 70mm OD. The Bruder tires...

Re: Shovel mechanics
Your math is a little off. 1 cubic yard IS 36"x36"x36", but 1/2 of a cubic yard is 18"x36"x36". 18"x18"x18" would be 1/8 of a cubic yard.
1 cubic yard is 46,656 cubic inches, so 1/2 of a cubic...

Re: Tires for conversions
I stumbled across Lesu 1/16 scale tractor/trailer tires that LOOK to be about the right fit for Bruder conversions, 76mm OD with both "narrow" and "wide" widths available. I think the narrow tires...

Re: 1/10 caterpillar 140h motor grader 3d printed
What are you using for your CAD? I'm looking for something that isn't a subscription.
I don't mind paying for a license, but I'd rather have a perpetual license instead of something that can be...

Re: 1/10 caterpillar 140h motor grader 3d printed
How long did it take you to get the openings in the engine covers cleaned up and ready for paint? I know you've said you sand until you're happy with things, but that would have driven me bonkers.

I know the cartoon was always "Kilroy was here", but one of those really needs to say "Kilroy is here".

Re: Sherman "Calliope"
That's a nice looking Sherman with a Clalliope mounted on it.
It was my understanding the the Calliope only used the gun barrel for support, they couldn't elevate the Calliope by lifting the...

Re: 1/10 caterpillar 140h motor grader 3d printed
I didn't realize that front beam was that thick, a piece of 3/4" ply glued in there will do wonders for its' strength.
I was thinking that the beam was thinner and maybe had a piece of aluminum...

Re: 1/10 caterpillar 140h motor grader 3d printed
It looks like you've got aluminum extrusions for the frame rails under the engine. Is there anything extra in the beam that supports the blade and the front wheels? Or did you print it with extra...

Re: Michigan T-24 project
The outriggers might not need to be powered, just pull out and crank down? But they definitely need to be functional and not just a pad resting on the ground. Otherwise things could get a little...

Re: VW Van 1/16

That's what the first car I ever owned would have looked like when it was new. Not when I got it mind you, but when it was new. I got mine for $50 in 1974...

Using two different flavors of batteries you'll have different discharge curves. I think you'll need to tie the commons (-) of both battery packs together so all of the electronics will have the...

Re: Michigan T-24 project
Fuel tubing is do-able as a spring, but it's a lot stiffer lengthwise than you might think. When I built the rotary valve for my dust collector I was using springs 3-4mm in diameter to keep the...
