Diameter at M2.5 is good = 40mm dia (1 3/4 ") in 1:1, excess length is easily ground off, and the head could be filed down and the bolt recessed into the 14-gauge (1.98mm) cutting edges. Or, recess them and file them off flush once in position. Thanks for the heads up. I was looking at some phillips head M3 PK tapered screws on the net, not sure how much of the head would be left once the screw drive slot was filed off though.
