Default Re: International Harvester Farmall 1256 (1967-69)

I realized I haven't visited the farm in a while...
That old farmer ordered some Surpass hobby 180 - 87t motors, which is supposed to be a crawler motor upgrade for a trx4m. 6v, hobbygrade, and torque seemed like a good place to start to turn Way Too Much tire.

I don't remember what range those reduction boxes were supposed to be. I think earlier i had mentined "50rpm" and "200 rpm" which were probably numbers from an asian site? The jungle site says that at some point i ordered some 20d as short ''30rpm'' at 382:1, and some short "100 rpm" at 100:1.

Heatgun on 'full send' to burn the old CA bond so i could break out the 12v motors. Abuse the brass pinion off new motor, abuse tiny brass pinion off old motor, and onto new. Fight motors into tractor halves and rebond into the old CA & powder. Reinstall gearboxes to motors.

A smart guy probably would have charged a battery and tested the new gearmotor assembly with a tractor wheel before finalizing that, so i didn't. I'm not sure if any of this is better, but maybe it's different now.

Ziptie tractor halves back together, mounted the Single tires instead of Duals for testing. Stabbed 1 motor direct to 6 cell nimh, it starts doing a wheel hopping burnout and chucking things off my desk!
Winner winner chicken dinner.
