Have you had any luck with the threaded rod ?
I've done a few builds,along with the bruder excavator with screwdrives,I use 1/2 ,3/8 SST tubing 0.035 wall along with 1/4 wood auger bits ,high torque servos converted to 360 .have any questions feel free to ask.
