Higher turns usually do make more torque, and spin fewer RPMs. Lower turns have more hp, and less low end power, but spin faster. Turns is basically refering to the number of times the wire is wrapped around an armature pole. A 55 turn motor will have the wire wrapped 55 times. The more you wrap the wire around the pole, the stronger the magnetic field it produces. More turns also increases the internal resistance of a motor, and the more resistance it has, the less current it will consume. That means longer run times, which is always nice.
