My TD40B has ,in 1:1 size is 3.66"with a 11"pitch scaled at 1:12 is .305" with a .92" pitch . I used .375" (3/8") with a 1" pitch . In loose soil , you'll loose some traction as well on a hard pan where the grousers will not penetrate , thats something you can't avoid . Too high a grouser bar and you'll be ripping the pads right off the chain . Think of that grouser as a leaver , the longer it is with respect to the flat of the pad the more it will want to bend back or forward .
