Default Re: oh look another bruder 320 cat!

ok took a while but this is my little review of the mangom hrc hydraulic kit.....

ok i got to set up the stage hear. i made a excavator about a year ago from scratch it was not very scale a use the firgelli actuators , the good it was very i mean very strong! stronger then these hydraulic, the bad it was slow and it broke down alot. the firgelli actuator kind of trick you into using them hard then they like. they will push through the overburden(back yard dirt) and seem like it wasn't bad but with constant hard use they will strip the gears and the lead screws, and firgelli doesn't sell part to fix them(i've asked). so was kind of pushed by a bunch of modelers to make it hydraulic. but after looking for the parts it was easyer to convert a bruder.

so the kit
the good.
easy cheap and seems to be good stuff, im really happy with what i got. i'm also very happy withthe customer service , they sent me new gears and part free after my dumb @SS broke them. they are smooth and easy to hook up . smaller then i thought they would be. and they simple and easy to repair and fix.

performance= they area strong and will dig into most florida dirt with little problem. the thing i think makes them seem stronger is they are constant, the firgellis will stall but these guy with keep pushing untill something gives most of the time its the dirt but i broke the pump doing this. i like the use of anti freeze for hydraulic fluid simple easy to find and comes in many type and favors. im using a mix of 80/20 im thinking that may be just a little thick.
the rams them selves are made of copper tube and brass. this makes them easy to work on and mod because you can solder the parts. the pump seem to run happy all day and doesn't take full power to work with. and being pretty cheap like 50$us they are cheap enough to use for other stuff like dump beds custom cranes and wow.....

the bad=
soft screws! i had to replace all the screws! the screw they use don't to be tighten down. the lack of info the little instructions they give you are easy to understand but that it. no info on what not to do. or how to set up your radio. no relief valve, that how i kill the pump, you have to mix the radio so that it only runs when the sticks are moved.

now this is more me then the parts. i love the fact the parts are made of brass and copper but i hate it to! i wish they made them from steal even just straight brass. only because i had a problem with one of the rams and had to take it apart, and found out how really simple they are made(i will be making new ones soon) and they are glued together not screwed. they use the little orange soft rubber o-rings, and they tend to rip apart in shocks so i think the same in these. so i replaced the on bad one with a rubber o-ring from home depot, and will do the same for the other when they break. and lastly i hate antifreeze this stuff sucks! it doesn't dry, when it dose it's sticky and it's slick. the big thing is i don't like to use posion in a toy i have kids around and even though they are older (8-14) my nephew has his hands in his mouth all the time.

so that's my little review. all in all i would buy them again and they will be a great way to make your first hydraulic model. even with the bad stuff i said i think this is the way to go. i know that there are kits out there that are better nicer and would beat the pants off this but they start at 1,200 and up
and i rather use that money for something i really need. even better mangom will mod a tractor and excavator for you.
