Default Re: New Truck

Actually the prototype companies don't have to open up. Tamiya just has to grow a set. When I was model railroading CON-COR came out with an HO JEEP Grand Cheeokee. Daimler-Chrysler refused to license it. CON-COR cleaned off every name plate and marketed the crap out of it as a "Modern Sport Utility Vehicle" their ads even made fun of Chrysler for their refusal and it sold like hot cakes. And they did not get sued! Boeing tried the same crap, companies just started using generic names.

Imagine this new dumper as a R series Mack, an Autocar, Volvo you pick the truck anything just NO EMBLEMS! And they sell it as the "Construction Dump Truck" it can be done. Heck, Tamiya started it with their Globeliner (IH) and King Hauler (KW-Pete) they just don't want to do it.

Sorry gang Rant over!

Just gets frustrating waiting and hoping for US prototype models. Tamiya's last US kit? A King Hauler with a couple new molded trees and longer frame.
Thank goodness for 3d printing!
