Look close at the boom it is held together with screws. He may be using servo cylinders and that is why the boom is modified so much and the hoses could be his wiring. The cups on the boom for the cylinder mounts and the ease of digging and lifting sand lead me to believe it is a scratch built excavator with a bruder body.
